Mat looked around, there was nothing he needed to bring with him on his trip out. I want to go camping. He thought. Mat was up for the challenge of camping in the plains this time of year. It was nearly winter, or leafbare as he had heard a clan Neko call it once.
"I suppose I should be off then." Mat sighed. Mat garbbed his sleepingbag and a small, one man tent that was rather old looking. "I can't take you with me," Mat said, talking to his violin.
Mat walked out of his cave, his only true home. He was off to go on a camping trip.

Valentine stepped into the dark cave, grateful for the shelter.
Glancing around at his surroundings, Valentine came to the conclusion that this cave was someone’s home, “Hey, Alphonese, you think someone lives here? It looks like it, “He said, looking back to his companion.
Valentine looked back outside, the winds had picked up. “Well, I guess we’re stuck here for the time being…” he whispered, voice fading out.

Mat was not to far from the outside of his house, when he smelled something. There were two neko's near his house, one of them was the one from befor. Mat stung his bow and held it up. Without realizing it, he had forgotten to load the arrow.
Mat walked into his home to find two neko's standing in it. "Do not touch the violin," Mat commanded, his fear, although present, was disregarded for fear his violin might be harmed.

Upon hearing the voice, Valentine turned towards the source, one hand on his own bow, but he soon withdrew his gloved hand.
"We haven't touched anything but your floor, I am sorry for the intrusion, but as you can see, the weather is a bit harsh," he replied quickly, trying to calm the fearful neko.
Valentine then tilted his head, silver blonde strands of hair covering his face in question, "Is it okay if we stay here for a while?" he inquired, eyes straying towards the opening.

"Sure," Mat said, lowering his unloaded bow. Mat began to relax, but was still a bit nervous with haveing strange people in his home. He sat down on his bed, he would have offered them both a seat, but he only had on chair in it house.

Valentine was positively beaming when he heard that they could stay.
He then sat down on the floor, indian style, and began to inspect his bow, "The string needs to be tightened.." he mumbled to himself, and started to modify his bow.
Looking up towards the stranger, he asked, "Forgive me if this is rude, but what is your name? Mine is Valentine!"
Something about this neko seemed familiar, as if Valentine might have seen him before this day...

“I thank you for the shelter; we will stay out of your way if possible.” His reply was smooth his voice like velvet from years of sweet talking his way out of trouble. He sat down on the cold cave ground, clearing the majority of the dirt away before settling down. Out of his bag he extracted a cleaning cloth, and with his left hand he pulled his sword out of its scabbard and began to buff the scratches out of the shiny metal. While engrossed in his work he listened to Valentine ramble, like the somewhat ditzy guy like he was he was amusing to have around and was not at all upset about the addition of a comrade.

"I'm," Mat paused, he almost said his clan name, "Mat." Mat stared at the neko named Valentine for a moment. He had seen him before, but where. "It's no problem, I don't mind company. And sorry about before, I scare easily," Mat said, refering to him and the other neko's earlier encounter.

Valentine nodded sagely, "Some people do... Scare easily, that is, nothing to be ashamed of," he said, offering his hand for a handshake.
Valentine Looked around the cozy cave, "Nice place you have here, is it a year-round home for you? How long have you been living here, all your life?" he barrage of questions attacked poor mat, Valentines unsatiable curiosity was never-ending and normally annoying.

“I can tell.” Alphonese stated bluntly, he continued his work then stopped feeling like he forgot something… something fairly important. He chewed thoughtfully on his bottom lip, in an almost girlish manor and eventually gave up on the idea. It would come back naturally later. He started back to his monotonous work, making the blade shine maliciously in the dim light. The saber was much more intense and chilling when it refracted the light just before he moved in for a kill. It would induce more fear, more terror. And if he had that advantage, his life would be just that much easier.

"Well I haven't always lived here, but i stay here permanently now. I do like to go camping a lot though." Mat said. He seemed completely oblivious to the fact that these could turn into very personal questions, very quickly.

“Camping… from what I’ve heard of it, it seems like fun” Valentine commented.
Valentine studied the neko; he swore he had seen him before, but where…? Valentine set his bow off to the side, “Have we met before? I swear we have! I may have lost my memories, but I don’t forget faces that easily…” he asked.
“I don’t know where I live year-round, so I suppose I live with Alphonese…” he mumbled partially to himself.

Mat looked around, he knew he had seen this neko somewhere. Perhaps at a gathering? No this neko wasn't a clan neko, was he? Mat hadn't seen any other neko since he left until his stare down with Alphonse.
"Lost your memory?" Mat questioned. Maybe this Valentine was a clan neko. If so, Mat didn't want to take a chance getting caught. He always blamed himself for his brothers death, and he knew everyone else did too. "I do remember you from somewhere," Mat shot a weary glance at the neko sharpening his sword, not all loners liked clan nekos, especially former clan nekos. "Where did you used to live?" Mat asked.

Valentine snickered under his breath, "Where did I live? Well, since, as I said before, lost my memory, I don't know, If I knew, I wouldn't be here!" he laughed.
"Anyways, Alphonese and I are relatively sure that I came from one of the four clans" Valentine said, fingers playing with his single earring on his furry ear.
Valentine looked up at Mat, "Have you always been a loner?" he asked nonchalantly.

Alphonese raised an eyebrow and stopped his work. “Me? I have no past, only a future.” He felt a tad uneasy under the surveillance of the other [possible] loners. “However I lived on the streets for practically my whole life.” He scratched his chin, “…I joined a band of traveling gypsies, roamed with them for a while… I found the loner territory and I’ve been here ever since.” He shrugged, “I’m just a street rat, easily forgotten, you guys and your fancy histories.” He let out a throaty chuckle, “bah. As long as you’re living you should be grateful. Live in the current day. The past isn’t worth getting worked up about.” He nodded feeling good about his somewhat philosophical answer.
